On 28 January 2026, the Management Board of the National Corporate Governance Commission approved an updated assessment (self-assessment) card.

The assessment questionnaire supports companies in applying the core principle of the National Corporate Governance Code – “comply or explain” – and is a key factor for a company’s eligibility to be included in the Index of Companies with Good Corporate Governance – CGIX.

The assessment card is not mandatory for companies. Nevertheless, the National Corporate Governance Commission recognizes the importance of proactive behavior and transparency on the part of issuers and highly values their commitment to completing and submitting the questionnaire to the Bulgarian Stock Exchange together with the annual activity report.

In 2025, the calculation of the CGIX Corporate Governance Index was resumed. As part of its rebalancing, the assessment of companies that may potentially be included in the index incorporates a criterion whereby only companies that have submitted their self-assessment questionnaire in a timely manner are eligible to participate.
